Internship report
Holá, my name is Anika. I am an intern
here myself and I would like to introduce you to our
hotel, the tasks and the schedule that will be awaiting
you during the internship.
We are a mountain Hotel and Adventure
Park in the small community of Tajo Alto. We have two
amazing Canopy Tours, ATV and horseback riding trips
every day and always guests booked in. We need here
every hand to keep the business going which particularly
means a day starts at 7 am and most of the time ends
late in the evening. But we, of
course, also work in shifts and you are free
to take days off, as we want to give you the
opportunity to explore the country.
Moreover,
the team around is very very lovely, multicultural,
young and dynamic. You will feel
yourself at home after a short time.
Our guests are coming from all over the
world, but mainly USA, Europe or Costa Rica. As an
intern you do the check in and out, look after our clients prior
and after the tours or help in the restaurant, you
organize and prepare tours, write invoices and handle requests on
the phone and via email. From time to time you also
accompany tours as interpreter or to check out new
routes. Therefore you need very
good knowledge in English and Spanish and also a great
affinity to work with clients closely.
Furthermore, we are constantly improving
our web presentation as well as promotion material.
Therefore very good knowledge in Office – especially
Outlook, FotoShop, FrontPage (Webimpression),
PhotoImpact as well as in the field of marketing for
search engines is required to make it easier for
everybody.
In short words, you are the junior
manager of administration and marketing, on some days
you will even manage the hotel on your own. On the other
hand you will be trusted and are able to work
independently. Your ideas and opinions are always more
than welcome.
You will be living on site with two or
three more colleagues, excellent food and beverage all inclusive,
but please keep in mind, that we are far away from the
next big city which makes it very difficult to leave the finca. In return, though, you enjoy the pleasure of pure
nature at one of the most beautiful places in the world.
